KRISTY MORGAN
Barrister Kristy has worked as a specialist family lawyer since 2008 after graduating from the University of Auckland in 2007 with LLB and BA degrees. Kristy currently practices as a barrister sole based in Mt Wellington. Kristy is a Director of Tulaga Vae Limited, creating and facilitating the Tulaga Vae legal education programme on best practice and cultural competency in Family Law in 2022 and 2023. Tulaga Vae aims to inspire Pacific graduates, lawyers and support staff to work in Family Law and create better outcomes for Pacific families in the Family Court. Kristy takes pride in providing accurate advice and strong advocacy on a wide range of family law matters. Kristy has the expertise to resolve these issues either by way of agreement or litigation. Most of Kristy’s extensive Family Court and alternative dispute resolution experience has occurred in Auckland. However, she also worked as a Senior Solicitor for Oranga Tamariki, providing high quality solution focused legal advice to Oranga Tamariki staff across the East Coast region and conducting litigation in the Family Court and Youth Court. Kristy is a Court appointed lawyer for children and lawyer to assist, family legal aid provider, and a member of the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry legal assistance panel and a member of the Pacific Panel Advisory Group to Oranga Tamariki. |
FARIA MOHAMMED
Junior Barrister Faria graduated with her LLB from Auckland University of Technology in 2022. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2023. In 2023, she joined the Family and Civil registry as a Deputy Registrar at the Manukau District Court. Faria has now joined Kristy Morgan Barrister as an employed barrister, focusing on parenting/childcare issues and family violence. Faria believes it is important to build strong, trusting relationships with clients. Faria pays close attention to her clients' needs while offering clear and understandable legal advice.
